Chasing Dreams - The Origin Story

I released my first official Collection - The Chasing Dreams Series earlier this month. A few of the pieces are already headed to their new Collectors(!!). But I thought I will share a bit of “history” of how this collection came into being and the inspiration behind it all.

Long long time ago (just kidding)… Well, this series all really began in March 2021 when I decided to quit my fund management job. I loved investing… still do… but Covid truly was a wake up call. With several close friends and family having been affected, it led to that “life is short” moment… when you begin contemplating about what matters and if you are indeed working towards everything you ever wanted to achieve in life.

All of that deep self reflection led to some pretty clear answers for me - that there were many other things that I wanted to do and build, which I was procrastinating, using “being too busy with my job” as the excuse. Those included things that I have always wanted to do since I was a kid, also those that would make a difference. One of those “dreams” have been to create art!

Hence, the "Chasing Dreams” series was born.

Quitting a comfortable job where one actually even enjoys the work they do - is actually pretty scary at the beginning. But once you get that clarity of purpose, taking a different path is so exhilarating!

The emotions I’ve felt during this whole transition have spanned from happy excitement on the one hand to almost “about to take a free fall dive in a rollercoaster” nervousness. And the best way I know how to express them is through painting!

The best thing so far in this journey has been a realisation that once you set your mind to it - the possibilities of what can be are endless. And that in itself fills life with sheer joy and excitement.
